Bulk Orders
I am now sold out for 2012. I will begin accepting orders in March 2013. Meat will be available for pickup in June and July. I sell in quarters and halves. Pick up for halves will be at Mast Meats. Pick up for quarters will be at my farm, 9200 S. Amelia Avenue Amelia 23002. A quarter of beef is about 95lbs. of meat(approximately 21% steak, 35% roasts, and 44% ground beef). A quarter sells for $5.75 per pound. A half is about 190lbs. and sells for $5.00 per pound. These are 2012 prices. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time the order is made. A $200 deposit is required for a whole. There is no discount for anything over a half. I use an Amelia Butcher, Mast Meats, for all Bulk Orders. They are state inspected. The meat is vacuum sealed with the exception of the ground beef. Mast Meats does not weigh each piece of meat. MAST MEATS ONLY WEIGHS THE HANGING CARCASS. A 1000lb live animal may produce a 600lb hanging carcass weight. Take home meat is expected to be 67% of the hanging carcass weight. You and I will get the hanging carcass weight from Mast Meats. I will multiply the hanging carcass weight by 67% to determine how much meat you receive for a half. I weigh each piece for quarters. Supplies are limited so you are encouraged to order early.

Advantages In Bulk Purchases
TIME- You can get a year’s worth of beef at once. My beef is vacuum sealed and will last two years in the freezer.
VALUE- There is a significant discount for bulk purchases verses purchasing by the cut.
AVAILABILITY- Your bulk purchase allows you to be confident you have beef on hand whenever you need it.
AFFORDABILITY- A 9 square-foot freezer at Lowes only costs $279. A 9 square-foot freezer will hold about 275 pounds of beef and is so efficient it uses only $31 a year in electricity. Your freezer can also save you money by allowing you to purchase other products at reduced price.
LOCALNESS- The butcher I use for bulk orders is Mast Meats which is also located in Amelia County. I use Faquier’s Finest butcher for my small orders. It is a significant distance to Faquier County to transport cattle and return two weeks later to pickup the meat.
